I saw him speak at a small conference about 20 years ago. I have seen at a lot of speakers at a lot of conferences over my career, and his was the only one that I know I will never forget, edge of my seat the whole time, amazing stuff.

May he rest in peace, and know that so many lives continued onward thanks to the efforts of him and his crew that day.

And he touched so many lives afterward, retelling the story  and sharing his thoughts on CRM.

I remember watching coverage of the crash on the news as a kid, but never knew the story behind it. That’s nothing short of incredible.

RIP Captain.

They say never to run out of altitude, airspeed, or ideas. Haynes and his crew never did. A great team.

I read somewhere where no one has ever come close , in a simulator, to landing with those set of conditions. Amazing.
